Chris Robinson - Audit Principal
Chris was born in Hayes and has lived in the Uxbridge or Harrow area all his life.
He joined Sproull Goddard & Co from school in 1969 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1973. He was appointed as a partner in 1978 and became a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1979.
During his career he has gained wide experience in a number of areas including:
- Family businesses, including limited companies and partnerships, involved in a wide range of activities
- Professional practices, including medical practitioners and solicitors
- Subsidiaries of a U.K. public company
- Groups of companies
- Sports associations and clubs
- Management accounts
- Forensic accounting
- Business development services
For some years Chris also dealt with the tax affairs of his clients before passing this work to staff within the tax department.
He has also been heavily involved in recent years in the expansion of the firm’s client base in the sector of service charge audits and accounts for residential blocks of flats, and has appeared on several occasions as an expert witness on behalf of clients at Leasehold Valuation Tribunal hearings.
For several years Chris was chairman of the Hillingdon Association of Voluntary Services, a body representing around 200 charities in the borough, and was a member of Ruislip Round Table for eleven years, including a year as chairman.
For many years (until age became a factor!) he was an active hockey player and over the years has undertaken many voluntary roles in hockey administration. His interests include travel, sport, reading and the theatre.
