For some years Chris also dealt with the tax affairs of his clients before passing this work to staff within the tax department. He has also been heavily involved in recent years in the expansion of the firm’s client base in the sector of service charge audits and accounts for residential blocks of flats, and has appeared on several occasions as an expert witness on behalf of clients at Leasehold Valuation Tribunal hearings. For several years Chris was chairman of the Hillingdon Association of Voluntary Services, a body representing around 200 charities in the borough, and was a member of Ruislip Round Table for eleven years, including a year as chairman. He was also for many years (until age became a factor!) an active hockey player and over the years has undertaken many voluntary roles in hockey administration. On graduating from The City of London Polytechnic in 1977, Philip joined Sproull Goddard & Co and qualified in 1983. Philip was appointed Audit Partner in 1988. Tel: 020 8427 2757 Ged Hitchin - Tax PartnerBorn in Oswestry, Ged moved to Hull where he was educated and left grammar school in 1973 when he joined the Inland Revenue. Between 1973 and 1981 he gained experience in many areas of general taxation. In 1981 he was promoted to Revenue Executive and transferred to London. He worked in both Wembley and Pinner tax offices, reaching the rank of HM Inspector of Taxes in 1984. After a further five years of accounts investigation experience, Ged decided to leave the Inland Revenue and joined Sproull & Co's tax team as a Tax Consultant. He was successful in the Institute of Taxations final examinations in 1991 and qualified as a Chartered Tax Practitioner (ATII) in 1992. He joined HM Revenue & Customs directly from school and spent 10 years working in Pinner and later Ruislip tax offices as a Revenue Assistant and Revenue Officer. On 1st March 1996, Warren joined the tax department of Sproull & Co as a Tax Assistant and, in May 1997, passed the Association of Taxation Technicians examinations (ATT). He later went on to pass the Chartered Institute of Taxation exams (CTA) in November 1999. Warren became an Associate Tax Partner as of 1st January 2007.
